Under Government sick pay regulations:
- No certificate is required for illnesses of three days or less.
- A self-certificate form should be completed if the illness lasts for four to seven days (including Saturday and Sunday). These are available from your place of work.
If the illness lasts more than seven days, you will need to obtain a "Fitness To Work" Certificate from your doctor.
If your employer requires a doctor’s certificate for an absence of less than seven days, then we may supply a private one for which there will be a charge. This can only be supplied if you saw a doctor when you were unwell.
Sick notes are not urgent and please accept that the certificate could be backdated for you depending on when the call was made and accept the routine telephone appointment reception will give you.
Please note we have a standard letter reception will give you if requested stating you are awaiting a Doctors appointment for a certificate which is acceptable to organisations.
